Eine durch eine Bleistiftmine ergänzte, elektrische Gravierstiftspitze wird wie ein zitternder Seismograf von Hand an einem Lineal entlanggeführt. Die Hand zeichnet Rhythmus, Geschwindigkeit sowie Impulse beim wiederholten Hören eines Musikstücks auf: „Stay on It“ (1972) von Julius Eastman basiert auf Wiederholung und Variation und verbindet Einflüsse der Populärmusik mit frei improvisierbaren Passagen, die in der Zeichnung von Hand aufgegriffen werden.

An electric engraving pen tip, fitted with a pencil lead, is guided by hand along a ruler like a trembling seismograph. The hand records rhythm, speed, and impulses while listening to a piece of music: “Stay on It” (1972) by Julius Eastman is based on repetition and variation and combines influences from popular music with freely improvised passages captured in the hand-drawn sketch.
