Redender Stein (Speaking Stone)
In front of a mountain peak named Speaking Stone in the so-called
Dead Mountains in the alps, an excerpt of Martin Heidegger's Being
and Time was divided into syllables and read aloud to the echoing
front of the mountain peak. A microphone captured the response of the
mountains, the acoustic reflections of the Speaking Stone. The sound
recordings of the rhythmic traces of the voice are played back within the
concrete-casted megaphone.
(Being-there and discourse: Language can be broken up into word-things
objectively present. Hearing and keeping silent are possibilities belonging
to discoursing speech.)
