Sound Piece for Ligeti

Reminiscent of the micropolyphonic sound clusters in György Ligeti’s work "Apparitions", the almost inaudible sounds of tiny fruit flies were recorded in different glass cylinders when growingup and flying away. The recordings were used for a sound piece that fuses with Ligeti's composition Apparitions. Played back within the glass objects, the sound of the wings are interweaving with the orchestra's play, played back by a miniature speaker fixed on the wall. While the orchestra music becomes very “small”, the fruit fly sounds appear at times unobstrusively, at times overwhelming the orginal musical play.
